Gelato is a high-end ice cream brand that is renowned for its rich, decadent flavors and smooth texture. The brand wanted to capture the essence of joy, flavor, and luxuryness in its packaging while ensuring that it stood out in the crowded ice cream shelves. As a fresh and exciting brand, Gelato needed a unique and eye-catching design that would appeal to customers and make them excited about the premium ice cream brand.
Client Overview
Gelato approached AKKI STUDIOS with the task of developing a brand identity and packaging design that truly represented the essence of their high end ice cream. Their goal was to have a design that would stand out in the market, communicate the indulgent nature of the product, and be instantly recognizable. Gelato’s vision was to combine luxury and enjoyment so that the product felt unique and reachable to everyone. They wanted packaging that reflected the quality of their ice cream while also attracting attention in stores. stores.
Our Goal
After understanding the client requirement we created a design plan that combines enjoyment, luxury, and quality. Our objective was to design packaging that would communicate Gelato's high-end yet approachable qualities. Designing a product that was both luxury and playful was a challenge that had to excite and satisfy customers before they had even tasted it.
Design Approach
Gelato's packaging and branding design were thoughtfully created to capture the essence of the company. In order to make the base design feel new and welcoming, we went with gentle pastel colors. While the vibrant accent colors offer a contemporary, thrilling twist, the pastel stripes add a classic touch that reminds customers of an old-fashioned ice cream shop.
Packaging strategy
We concentrated on creating clear, uncomplicated, and easily identifiable packaging. Every flavor was given a different color, which gave each product a unique feel while keeping the overall design consistent. Large, readable fonts are used on the packaging to make the product easy to read and recognize. All products had the same design, which contributed to the development of a powerful brand identity that consumers could readily identify with.
Challenges
One of the main challenges was to maintain the balance between being playful and feeling luxurious. Gelato needed to look like a high-quality product but also feel attractive and welcoming for everyone. Another challenge was creating packaging that worked for different flavors while keeping the overall brand look consistent. We also wanted the design to look attractive yet simple enough for people to understand quickly.
Solution
In order to overcome these obstacles, we added vibrant accents to make the packaging appear playful and contemporary while also using gentle pastel colors to give it a high-end, sophisticated feel. As a result, each product felt distinct even though they were all from the same brand.

Our branding and packaging for Gelato effectively conveyed the brand's core values of decadence, fun, and quality.
